Like I've said before, toys quickly get out of control. I'm always looking around for containment ideas: new, old, weird ... it makes no difference. If it works, I like it.
One day, I was walking down that aisle at Target. The one that calls to me each and every time I'm there. (No, not the candy aisle ... that one doesn't call ... it screams.)
I'm talking about the organization aisle. The one with all the crazy caddies and boxes in every shape, size, and color.
Anyway, for whatever reason, the good ol' back-of-the-door shoe organizer caught my eye and I immediately thought ... "Ha! Action figures!" From there, it took on a life of its own.
I bought two, and within a couple of hours had them hanging and filled.
It works great! It really helps in keeping all of those teeny pieces together, and both of my
kids like to categorize their toys in the pockets: Spider Man in this pocket, Princesses in that ... Transformers in all of those.
I'm sure that has to be teaching them--well--something.
I was searching for my kitchen tongs. Michael told me it was his "grabber" and he keeps it in the pocket to help him "grab" the things out of his immediate reach. hehehehe ... even he knows how to "repurpose."

I made 2 "shoe" organizers. One is for my shoes and the other one is for craft supplies.
Oh, my son would love this for all his "guys." What a great idea!
I have one in the hall closet that's filled with sunscreen, bug spray, and other things we need near the door but out of toddler reach.
Found you through WFMW--thanks for sharing!
What a great idea! My guys are older now, but goodness we should have thought about that when action figures ruled the house!
What a great idea! I just may have to try this. My son has Thomas the Train tracks and pieces that I'm always wondering how to keep together...
This just might be the ticket!
the teacher in the classroom next door to me used these for a classroom store our first year teaching. i totally forgot about using it as an organization item in my house. what a great idea, thanks!
Great tip! I just noticed a few weeks ago that they now make one specifically for HotWheels cars.
